These full-time positions offer a fantastic opportunity for young Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people (18+ preferred) to gain hands-on experience, training, and a nationally recognised qualification while working on major infrastructure projects.

Civil Drafter

As a Civil Drafting trainee, you will undergo structured training and mentored development to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to support civil engineering projects. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will assist in various design and documentation tasks related to roads, highways, aviation, and rail. Your role will not only involve technical drawing but for the right candidate progressively develop in the world of 3D digital design and to be a part of major infrastructure projects.

Key Duties

  • Developing towards attaining a Certificate III in Engineering -Technical.
  • Undertake the design documentation drafting on roads and general civils projects.
  • Perform technical 2D /3D design tasks using AutoCAD as your main authoring tool.
  • Opportunities to work on aviation, rail, maritime projects when needed to meet our brief of working across the whole Transport Sector.
  • Diversity of clientele ensures growth opportunities to work in defence, renewables and resources when needed.

 

Dams & Tailings Drafter

As a Trainee Dams & Tailings Drafter, you will receive structured training and mentored development to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to support our portfolio of projects. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will assist in various design documentation tasks related to Dams & Tailings civil earthworks project delivery.

The role will be based in the GHD Perth office.

 

Key Duties

  • Developing towards attaining a Certificate III in Engineering -Technical.
  • Undertake Design documentation drafting and related tasks on Dams & Tailings and associated civil projects.
  • Perform technical 2D / 3D design tasks using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Opportunities to work on projects across WA and beyond.

 

Bridge Drafter

As a Trainee Bridge Drafter, you will receive structured training and mentored development to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to support transport infrastructure projects. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will assist in various design documentation tasks related to bridges and transport structures.

The role will be based in the GHD Perth office.

 

  Key Duties

  • Developing towards attaining a Certificate III in Engineering -Technical.
  • Undertake the design documentation drafting on bridge and civil structure projects.
  • Perform technical 2D / 3D design tasks using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Opportunities to work on projects across WA and beyond.

 

Bridge Inspector

 

As a Trainee Bridge Inspector, you will contribute to providing our clients with critical data to on the condition of their assets to enable decision making.

The role will combine being office based with field work; inspecting and assessing assets across the many regions which make up Western Australia.

Key Duties

  • Developing towards attaining a Certificate II in Engineering Pathways
  • Assisting in bridge inspections, identifying defects and assembling condition information including measurements and reporting.
  • Maintain daily records for activities associated with the bridge inspection activities.
  • Maintaining the bridge inspection equipment in good working order.
  • Planning of inspections including booking hire cars, accommodation, arranging subcontractors such as traffic management, rail protection and plant hire.

 

Project Administrator

This trainee position will involve working across the groups project portfolio, providing support to project teams to meet our quality and accounting requirements using our operating systems

The role will be based in the GHD Perth office.

Key Duties

  • Developing towards attaining a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice
  • Support the delivery of projects with consideration of time, budget and quality requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of bids for projects.
  • Help meeting our deadlines for producing documents and drawings.
  • Assisting with the preparation for internal GHD, client and vendor meetings.

 

You can apply if you?

  • Are over 17
  • Have completed Year 10
  • Have written, verbal and numeracy skills.
  • Have developing computer skills
  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or a Torres Strait Islander
