Governance Trainee Role
Nudge is working in partnership with the Town of Cottesloe to recruit an entry-level Governance Trainee.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a young person (under 25, preferably 18+) who is eager to kick-start their career in local government, gaining valuable skills and experience in business administration, governance, and executive support.

About the Role
As a Governance Trainee, you’ll be working closely with the Governance and Executive Support Coordinator at the Town of Cottesloe, handling important administrative and governance tasks while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. This is a great opportunity for someone who is:
- Proactive and keen to learn.
- Presentable and friendly.
- Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Good with computers (Microsoft Office skills required).
- A strong communicator with fluent English.
Who can apply?
To apply, you should:
✔ Be under 25 years old (18+ preferred).
✔ Have completed Year 10.
✔ Be local to the Western Suburbs (preferred).
✔ Be willing to undergo a police clearance (paid for by the council).
✔ Be willing to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
✔ Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
Additional Info
- Work hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30–4:30 or 9–5 PM (occasional evening meetings with penalty rates paid)
- Location: Town of Cottesloe, 109 Broome Street, Cottesloe
- Supervisor: Governance and Executive Support Coordinator
- Start Date: ASAP (preferably March)
