This is the last Nudge Trainee Journey (NTJ) for 2021 and in it we will highlight each trainee award winner and a snippet of their story as a way to acknowledge and celebrate their achievements – they are all worthy recipients and fantastic role models for their families and communities – Well Done.

It has been a pleasure sharing the stories of trainees throughout 2021. Earlier in 2021, Nudge staff were encouraged to create their own meaningful way to market, promote and share Nudge – the NTJ was born out of that encouragement from the mentors.

“When you share, you learn, and when you learn, you share…”

Recently I had the opportunity to travel south to Busselton and Bunbury over two days. With the restrictions on regional travel now lifted by the WA government, the timing was perfect to get out and visit with trainees and employers after 13 weeks.

Nudge has a good partnership with the following employers in the South West region – DBCA (Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions – Aboriginal Ranger Program); Fulton Hogan and The Forest Products Commission (FPC). These employers have a number of trainees between them – and they vary from office-based to civil construction, land management/conservation and rangers.

In January 2020, Nudge partnered with Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA), to recruit two trainees local to the Perth Metro area to complete a Certificate III Government traineeship. Through the engagement of local community networks, a strong group of candidates were presented and ICWA and Nudge successfully on-boarded two trainees, Lexie Hall and Megan Jones who commenced in March 2020.
