The Nudge Team

Nudge Manager Service Delivery

As many of you know, our Manager Partnerships, Ami Kitchingman is now on maternity leave. We wish Ami and her family all the best for their new baby and the team all look forward to having Ami back in the office next year.

That being said we have also welcomed two new members to the Nudge team. We thought this would be a good time for you to get to know them and read on how they are fitting in with the Nudge team.

Brad Durack – Manager Partnerships

I joined the Nudge team in early April 2019 as Manager of Partnerships. I have been very impressed with the quality of Nudges service delivery and am excited to continue with the good work the team is doing with employers and trainees across WA.

Born and raised in Perth, my background is in building, training and photography, with the last 7 years of my career focused in the area of Indigenous training and employment throughout the East and West Kimberley. Before joining the Nudge team, I was General Manager of MGC Building and Maintenance Pty Ltd (MGCBM), an Indigenous owned building company in Kununurra. I am proud to have grown the company from two employees to now 18 with successful tender to the North West Aboriginal Housing Fund. As one of only three builders nominated for the Kimberley / Pilbara region, MGCBM has a steady pipeline of work, now supporting six Indigenous apprentices and three school-based trainees.

I am excited to continue working in the area of my passion with the Nudge team and engaging with a broader audience throughout the WA industry. In particular, I look forward to working with employers and demonstrating the measurable value trainees / apprentices add, not just socially, but commercially due to policy direction from state and federal government. The services Nudge provides empowers employers to increase training outcomes, increase tender winning capacity and adds valuable staff within their businesses.

Karen Barrett – Coordinator Engagement & Resourcing

I have been at Nudge for 7 weeks now and since beginning with Nudge I have been getting busy learning all about this wonderful organisation and meeting current traineeship applicants in work readiness trainings.

I am a Perth born and bred girl – I am Mum to three young adult daughters and one fur person. My partner also has three children so I have one big loud family at birthdays and holidays.

My career started out in Education as an ICT Manager and I worked with special needs and Aboriginal students as well. I am a bit of a late bloomer and I completed my degree in Community Development in 2016, it is never too late! In early 2000, I changed my career and joined the Employment Services Sector, which led me to positions within the Jobactive and DES contracts in roles such as Consultant, a Team Leader, a Trainer and a Manager.

I have an absolute passion for working with people, I love working with others and sharing my knowledge to help them on their career path. Nudge is the perfect place to let me fulfil this passion. Nudge is people centric and the work we do every day is extremely rewarding – it is so uplifting for me to work in a role where I can positively affect the people and communities I work with. I look forward to contributing to the fantastic work the Nudge team already does and bringing some of my own flavour to everyone I meet in the course of this role.
