Youth Employment Program (YEP) | City of Rockingham (CoR)

Nudge in partnership with the City of Rockingham, understand that young people want to work and carve out a career for themselves. Starting a new job can be daunting. Starting a traineeship even more so. And that’s why we take the time to walk alongside business partners and the young people on their journey.

The CoR YEP is about young people seeking employment, a Local Government looking for new talent within their catchment, and a trusted partner in Nudge and our experienced team, to create of the workforce for the future.

As a result – the ripple effect and the partnership between Nudge and The CoR is now in its third year.  Together we have learnt a great deal from the trainees, supervisors and the teams they are engaged in.  We have also learnt and engaged with their families and the community about the YEP opportunities.  Therefore the ripple effect is certainly alive in the clear blue beach waters of Rockingham.

The CoR YEP and Nudge statistics:

  • 30+ trainees (30+ employment opportunities)
  • 200+ applicants (over the 3 years)
  • 78% retention rate
  • Inclusion and Diversity through open trainee opportunities
  • Supporting the transition of relevant work skills and experience from mature aged workers directly to trainees
  • Mentoring engagement through Nudge mentors specifically recruited and assigned to the CoR YEP program
  • Workshop support to CoR Supervisors through Nudge’s Right Direction workshop (Supervisor Induction)
  • Regular CoR and Nudge hosted and support Recognition events (Creating a culture of unity)
