During Reconciliation Week 2022 we took the opportunity to speak to one of HazRad’s* trainee(s) Kiraley Ugle about what this week means to her and how she is progressing in her traineeship.
Kiraley has been employed as a Business Administration trainee with HazRad for 6 months, during this time Kiarley has been working within business admin and the sales team undertaking all manner of tasks associated with a busy office whilst working towards the completion of a Certificate III Business.
Kiraley see’s reconciliation week as a good opportunity to change things for the better and to work collectively together, for a better tomorrow for our kids and grandchildren
When Kiraley reflects upon the opportunity that the traineeship brings she states “I enjoy learning new skills and expanding on my knowledge base and also working as part of a team.”
Through her traineeship Journey Kiraley’s biggest challenge is working on her confidence, when answering phone calls and queries from customers, but what has helped her gain more confidence is learning “my place and space and what is expected of me in my role and tasks, in an office setting “
Kiraley credits her mentor and team as key people who she can rely on for support, advice and guidance to help her improve both her confidence and skills.
Reflecting on the opportunity that Kiraley has with HazRad and Nudge and encouraging other young people to explore traineeships, Kiraley believes “A traineeship is a great start, but because you’re a trainee you shouldn’t beat yourself up if you don’t know everything, you are not meant to know it all. Start within yourself by learning something each day, and after time, you will grow and become better.”
We have enjoyed following Kiraley’s traineeship journey and look forward to seeing her confidence and skill set grow in the time ahead. Thank you HazRad for your commitment to supporting young people to kickstart their career.
Reconciliation has elements of truth, justice, forgiveness, healing, reparation, and love. Supporting reconciliation means working to overcome the division (often called “the gap”) and inequality between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
