A good news story of cooperation and collaboration within the civil industry. With support and assistance from Nudge, two recently completed Cert II Civil Construction trainees with BMD Construction, Rakeam Jones and Adam Evans, have been successfully transitioned to Armadale Access Alliance (AAA) – a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and BG&E. Rakeam and Adam will now complete a Certificate III Civil Construction Traineeship with AAA.

Rakeam and Adam commenced with BMD Constructions in January 2019 on the BMD Kwinana Freeway project, and both completed their Certificate II Civil Construction earlier this year. Rakeam and Adam are extremely thankful and appreciative to BMD of the learning and experiences they gained in starting their careers. With that project completed, Nudge was able to support and facilitate the move to a new project with a new employer, to enable these young men to continue their learning and further develop their careers in the civil industry.

“When you share, you learn, and when you learn, you share…”

Recently I had the opportunity to travel south to Busselton and Bunbury over two days. With the restrictions on regional travel now lifted by the WA government, the timing was perfect to get out and visit with trainees and employers after 13 weeks.

Nudge has a good partnership with the following employers in the South West region – DBCA (Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions – Aboriginal Ranger Program); Fulton Hogan and The Forest Products Commission (FPC). These employers have a number of trainees between them – and they vary from office-based to civil construction, land management/conservation and rangers.
